Bihar Governor Buta Singh has authorised Chief Secretary K A H Subramanian to act as his special adviser till the Centre appoints its advisers.

The state department issued a notification to this effect on Monday evening following the governor's order, state cabinet coordination department secretary Vijoy Prakash said.

Even a week after President's rule was imposed on the state, the posts of advisers remained vacant reportedly due to the ongoing tussle between Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Lok Janashakti Party president Ramvilas Paswan.

They both want advisers of their choice.

Singh said, "The delay in the appointment of advisers has disrupted the smooth functioning of the state administration."

It had become difficult to clear several government schemes and release funds for the execution of various development projects, sources added.
