Leader of the Opposition Lal Kishenchand Advani on Thursday accused the Congress of sticking to the 'mindset' of the emergency period in wanting to have its party governments all over the country.
He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] should 'completely abandon this policy or distance himself from it'.
Participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks to the President's address, he said the Congress might not 'dare to impose the emergency, but the mindset of that time is still working'.
It might be effective against the BJP, but it could also go against other parties in the United Progressive Alliance, he said. Lalu Prasad Yadav had already suffered in Bihar because of this mindset, he added.
