The Pratapsingh Rane government in Goa [Images] will face a vote of confidence on March 4, cabinet minister and state Congress chief Luisinho Faleiro said on Wednesday.

The state cabinet took the decision after a meeting on Tuesday, Faleiro said.

Pro-tem Speaker Francisco Sardinha said he had received an intimation from Governor S C Jamir stating the House will meet at 2.30 pm on March 4 to discuss the vote of confidence.

He said he had not received an application from Philipe Neri Rodrigues asking for suspension of his disqualification order.

Neri was disqualified by former speaker Vishwas Satarkar hours before he relinquished his post on Monday.
