A raid is being conducted on the Rajkot home of Gujarat cricket bookie Arjun Nihalchandani, who was arrested for alleged links with Shoban Mehta, a top police official said in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

A team of the Mumbai and Ahmedabad crime branches is conducting the raid at the home of Nihalchandani alias Sindhi in Rajkot city, the official said.

The raid is being conducted, the official said, in connection with his alleged involvement in the cricket betting racket and links with Mehta.

Arjun was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch from Ahmedabad recently in connection with links with the top cricket bookie, who allegedly ran a countrywide betting syndicate.

Mehta, who was rearrested by the Ahmedabad Crime Branch from a hospital in Mumbai and brought to Ahmedabad on a transfer warrant, will be produced in court.

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch had arrested four persons from the city for alleged links with Mehta May 31.
