Vishwa Hindu Parishad, which has targeted Bharatiya Janata Party president L K Advani for his praise of Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah, said on Thursday it would have to reconsider support to the saffron party if he withdraws his resignation.

"If Advani withdraws his resignation, VHP will have to take a decision whether to support BJP or not at its two-day
meeting of 'Margdarshak Mandal' to be held at Haridwar on June 14 and 15," VHP national treasurer Ram Nath Mahendra told PTI.

He said VHP wants a person who could safeguard the interest of Hindus to head BJP.
