George Fernandes [Images] said on Thursday that the National Democratic Alliance would be meeting in a couple of days to discuss the resignation of Lal Kishenchand Advani as Bharatiya Janata Party president in the wake of his remarks on Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

"All of us are talking about a national discussion to correct history that has been twisted so long", he told reporters. "I will defend Advani to the end".

To a query on Tehelka expose, the NDA convener said "is it journalism to throw money at army officers' laps?"

Criticising the ruling United Progressive Alliance combine's treatment to former Supreme Court judge S N Phukan, who recently submitted his report on the defence deals, he said, "They (the Centre) did not feel ashamed to call Phukan a liar and accused him of preparing his report after taking bribe from me".
