5 Indians for Physics Olympiad

Five students from across the country would participate in the 36th International Physics Olympiad in Salamanca, Spain, from July 3 to 12.

R Arjun (Bangalore), M Hema Chandra Prakash (Hyderabad), N Tejaswi Venumadhav (Hyderabad), Piyush Srivastava (Allahabad) and Sameer Madan (Panchkula) were on Wednesday selected from 56 students, who came for a training camp at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education in Mumbai, according to the national coordinator, Science Olympiads Prof Vijay Singh [Images].

Singh announced the names of the students at the valedictory function of HBCSE, which is the nodal training centre for national science Olympiads. Earlier, after a nationwide screening of over 30,000 students by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers, the 56 students who attended the camp were selected, Singh added.
