Nilotpal Basu and Brinda Karat, members of Parliament of the Communist Party of India-Marxist, have demanded a total revamping of the Haryana administration with immediate effect.

Basu and Karat were visiting the injured at the Civil Hospital after Monday's police lathicharge on employees of Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Ltd [Get Quote].

Speaking to rediff.com, Basu said, "When I visited the Civil Hospital I could only see lathi wielding policemen and not a single person from the administration."

"The policemen are provoking the crowd to retaliate in the presence of a superintendent of police-rank officer. Policemen verbally abused a woman thereby indicating who rules the roost," Basu said.

Both Basu and Karat were pushed around by policemen who did not want the CP1-M leaders to meet the injured in the hospital.
