The Lok Sabha is likely to take up for discussion on Tuesday the adjournment motion that leader of opposition Lal Kishenchand Advani tabled on Monday against the "abysmal failure" of the government to protect the country's eastern borders against "massive, illegal migration" from Bangladesh.

In a veiled reference to the Supreme Court order striking down as "unconstitutional" the IMDT Act, it recalled that the apex court had described the illegal migration as "nothing short of external aggression".

The decision to table the motion, which entails voting, was taken at a meeting of senior NDA leaders, chaired by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Sources said Speaker Somnath Chatterjee had agreed to allow discussion on the motion on the first business day.
