The Central Bureau of Investigation has sought the tapes of the telephonic conversation between Bollywood stars Salman Khan [Images] and Aishwarya Rai [Images], tapped by the Mumbai police in 2001, in connection with its probe into the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, sources in the investigating agency said.

The CBI asked the Mumbai police to give it a copy of the tapes in which Salman purportedly said that he had advance information about the 1993 serial blasts, said the sources.

The CBI has been handed over the probe into the 1993 blasts, which had taken place after the Babri Masjid demolition in December 1992.
