No honking in night hours: SC

The Supreme Court has banned use of all vehicular horns between 2200 hours and 0600 hours in all residential areas across the country.

According to the guidelines issued by a bench comprising Chief Justice R C Lahoti and Justice Ashok Bhan the use of any kind of sound amplifier or loud speaker during the same period except in public emergencies has also been prohibited.

The apex court also reiterated its earlier ban on bursting of crackers between 2200 hours and 0600 hours at night.
