Grant sent to judicial custody

A local court on Wednesday sent United Kingdom national Duncan Grant to judicial custody till July 27.

Grant is facing charges of sexually abusing children of an orphanage in Mumbai along with two other accused who have been arrested in this case.

Grant had filed an application through his laywer Majeed Memon informing that he wished to surrender before the court in the case. The court took the application on record and asked the Colaba police to escort Grant from the airport on his arrival from London [Images] and produce him before the court.

The Colaba police had registered a case against Grant and two others -- Allan Water and William D'Souza in 2002.

According to the allegations, the trio had sexually abused children of the orphanage located in South Mumbai.
