The issue of terrorism will be high on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's [Images] agenda during his three-day visit to the United States from July 18, Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran said on Wednesday.

Briefing newsmen in New Delhi, Saran said Dr Singh would also take up a number of other issues with the American administration, including alternative energy and security.

He pointed out that there could not be two yardsticks to deal with terrorism. "If you want to fight terrorism at one place, then you should be ready to meet it at another place as well. There can be no segmentation," he said.

Dr Singh would have a one-to-one meeting with President George Bush [Images] on July 18. He would also meet Foreign Secretary Condoleezza Rice [Images] and  address the US Congress on July 20 before leaving for India.

Replying to a question, Saran said the ongoing peace process between India and Pakistan could be undermined if acts of terrorism like the one in Ayodhya continued.

When asked whether he was saying that Pakistan was behind the incident, he said: "I am not saying that. We will like to point out that the infrastructure of terror is still in place [in Pakistan] and the infiltration from across the border continues to take place."
