Railway traffic to Gujarat through Haryana was disrupted on Thursday due to the flooding of the rail track between Khori and Kund in Alwar district of Rajasthan resulting in suspension of railway movement to Ahmedabad and other stations.

Various trains have been held up at different places due to flooding of the track on the Rewari-Phulera-Ahmedabad route near Harsoli railway station, official sources said.

Ground under the track has been washed away at a spot between Khori and Kund.

Since the track is flooded, repair work cannot be undertaken immediately, official sources added.

The details of trains detained on the section were not known as the communication links had also broken down.

Telephones in large numbers were non-functional at this district head quarter town and adjoining Narnaul - the head quarter of Mahendargarh district.

Official sources said that efforts were on to provide food to the passengers held up in the detained trains.

No official of the Northwest Railway, which has its head quarter in Jaipur, was contactable despite repeated attempts.

Rewari is a major junction on the Delhi Jaipur Ahmedabad route.
