The Allahabad high court on Wednesday set aside a Rae Bareli court's order discharging Bharatiya Janata Party president Lal Kishenchand Advani from the Babri Masjid demolition case.

The high court directed Advani to appear before the trial court in Rae Bareli on July 28 to receive further directions.

The court dismissed five revision petitions filed by BJP leaders Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and Vinay Katiyar, VHP leaders Ashok Singhal, Acharya Giriraj Kishore and Vishnu Hari Dalmiya and Sadhvi Ritambaram challenging the Rae Bareli court order for going ahead with the trial against them.

The Rae Bareli court in 2003 had discharged Advani in the demolition case while directing trial against the others.

The high court order came on a petition filed by Haji Mehboob and Haji Mohammed Siddique challenging the trial court order discharging Advani.
