Home Minister Shivraj Patil briefed the Union Cabinet on the terrorist attack in Ayodhya on Tuesday.

The Cabinet meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images]. The Cabinet Committee on Security also met later to review the situation, official sources said.

National Security Guard commandos have been stationed at the Delhi Airport to be rushed to Ayodhya at a short notice in case of any eventuality, Home Ministry sources said.

"As the operation in Ayodhya is nearing completion, the NSG team has been kept on hold and any further decision will be taken depending on the situation there," an NSG official said.
