Nine Congress legislators loyal to veteran leader K Karunakaran are likely to resign their assembly memberships and formally join the National Congress-Indira on Tuesday.

According to NC-I sources, the MLAs will submit their resignation to the assembly speaker on Tuesday morning.

The decision was taken at a meeting Karunakaran had with the MLAs in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, the sources said.

"We have decided and there is no change," one of the MLAs belonging to the Karunakaran camp told PTI.
