Maharashtra's Anti Corruption Bureau on Tuesday raided seven premises, including the residence of Mahananda Dairy's Executive Director Shivajirao Talekar in Mumbai, acting on a complaint that Talekar had assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The ACB, however, refused to reveal the complainant's identity.
Director General of ACB P S Pasricha said: "Our raids are on...we will be able to comment on the matter in a few days' time. We have enough evidence against Talekar."
Mahananda Dairy is one of Mumbai's biggest milk suppliers. It distributes over 800,000 litres of milk every day in the city.
One corruption case is already pending against Talekar in the Bombay high court. The case was filed by social worker Vidya Chavan alleging adulteration of milk and corruption in the dairy.
One of the charges against Talekar in the case pertains to the purchase of packaging material at rates higher than the then market rate.
A departmental inquiry had found Talekar guilty, but no action was taken against him.
The action against Talekar comes close on the heels of the arrest of Director General of State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Rahul Gopal last month.
