An Allahabad court on Friday extended by 14 days the judicial remand of Samajwadi Party member of Parliament Atiq Ahmed in the Bahujan Samajwadi Party member of Legislative Assembly Raju Pal murder case.

Chief Judicial Magistrate M A Abbasi fixed March 3 as the next day of hearing.

Atiq had surrendered before the CJM on February 5, two days after the Supreme Court issued a notice to him on an appeal filed by Pal's wife Puja.

Atiq's borther Ashraf, who had lost to Pal in the October by-polls for Allahabad west assembly seat, is also in judicial custody in connection with the case.

In her first information report, Puja had named both Atiq and Ashraf for her husband's killing.
