Overwhelmed by the number of messages that rediff.com readers sent to him, President A P J Abdul Kalam -- who is recovering from a shoulder fracture -- asked his Press Secretary S M Khan to send a thank you note to News Editor Pankaj Upadhyaya.

Khan told Associate Editor Onkar Singh that the President is feeling well and discharging his official duties.
