A team of the Crime Branch quizzed Geelani, acquitted in the Parliament attack case, for over two hours at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in an effort to finalise the sketch of the man who attacked the Delhi University lecturer on February 8. The portrait would be released to police stations and media, police sources said.
Investigators also questioned Geelani's associates and colleagues.
The police are still awaiting the report of a two-member medical board set up to examine Geelani. The team is expected to pinpoint the kind of weapon used and the timing of the attack.
Preliminary investigations said Geelani was shot at outside the house of his lawyer Nandita Haksar in Vasant Enclave. But the police said they suspected he could have been attacked somewhere else.
Haksar said Geelani is unlikely to be discharged from the hospital for another two days, as his condition had not yet sufficiently improved.
