A day after the alleged rape of a 16-year-old student by two principals and two of their friends, the Delhi government on Friday decided to set up district-wise committees to check sexual harassment in schools.

The three-member committees, to come up in each of the nine districts of Delhi, will look into allegations of sexual harassment in government schools under their jurisdiction, Education and Tourism Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said.

Principals and senior government officials will be in the committees, he added.
