Builders summoned in temple sex CD case
February 17, 2005 14:57 IST
Police on Thursday issued summons to three Surat-based builders for questioning in a sex CD scam allegedly involving priests of the Vadtal sect attached to a Swaminarayan temple in Gujarat.
"Involvment of three Surat-based builders has emerged. We need to know more about their role," police sources said.
The Ahmedabad crime branch had on Tuesday seized a CD containing images of sadhus indulging in wild sexual acts and arrested Junagadh Swaminarayan temple priest, Swami Bhaktiswarup, and three others.
The police did not say if Swami Bhaktiswarup revealed names of other senior functionaries of the Vadtal sect suspected to be involved in the case.
A senior functionary of the Vadtal sect has assured that all the priests shown in the CD would be removed from the sect soon.
Bhaktiswarup and three others were part of the group that made the CD by placing hidden cameras in temples and locations in Surat, Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Vadtal.
