A writ petition was filed in Gujarat High Court on Wednesday in connection with the unearthing of a mass grave in Lunavada village of Panchmahal district of the state.

The petition was filed after some of the relatives of 2002 riot victims claimed on Tuesday to have exhumed skeletal remains from a mass grave besides Panam river.

Teesta Setalvad, an activist running Citizens for Justice and Peace, a non-governmental organisation had said the bodies might be of those killed in post-Godhra riots in Pandharwada village.

The matter is expected to come up for hearing on Thursday.
