The members of Parliament caught on camera taking money for raising questions in the House could stand suspended if the Inquiry Committee formed to probe the scam seeks extension, Parliament sources said on Monday.

If the Inquiry Committee does not finalise its report by the end of the session, the members could be suspended till the probe is over, the sources said adding that there has been an overwhelming opinion in several political parties for their expulsion.

The Committee headed by senior Congress member Pawan Kumar Bansal has been asked to give its report by December 21 and the Lok Sabha will consider its report.

The winter session of Parliament is concluding on December 23.

Bansal Committee, which completed the process of seeking information from the members on Sunday, had its meeting on Monday and would be again meeting on Tuesday.
