The Hyderabad City Police on Sunday arrested a suspected Inter Services Intelligence agent in connection with the sensational Task Force Office blast in the high-security Begumpet area of the city on October 12.

City Police, announcing the arrest of the suspect, said that that three other accused were absconding and are believed to be in Bangladesh and Pakistan. Mohtasim Billal, who died in the attack, was a suicide bomber.

It may be recalled that one home guard died along with the unidentified terrorist in the bomb blast. Special investigation team took up investigation and several teams were formed and sent to various parts of the country.

During investigation, the incident was found to be the job of a suicide bomber of Bangladesh origin with the assistance and logistical support from local terrorist modules.

On credible information that an accused Kaleem alias Arshad would be moving in LB Nagar area, the SIT laid a trap and nabbed the culprit. A 12-bore short weapon and five cartridges were seized from him.

During interrogation, Kaleem admitted that he actively participated in the terrorist operation to blast Task Force Office. He was picked up by Ghulam [Images] Yazdani alias Naveed from Hyderabad and taken to Bangladesh for terrorist training in weapons and explosives.

Later Ghulam Yazdani, who is now in Bangladesh and Shahed who operated from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and who was also in Bangladesh, to send a suicide bomber to Hyderabad, hatched a plan. Kaleem was entrusted the task of providing logistical support and guiding the suicide bomber.

Kaleem and Mohtasim Billal reached Hyderabad two weeks prior to the incident with the help of Zahed. Kaleem accompanied Mohtasim Billal to Task Force Office on the day of offence. The suicide bomber also wrote a suicide note to his parents and gave it to Naveed before starting from Bangladesh.

Naveed and Shahed were recruiting and training Indian youth in Bangladesh and Pakistan for terrorist activities in India.

"This entire operation is being handled by Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Tayiba of Pakistan along with Harkat-ul-Jehad-al-Islami of Bangladesh with active support of the ISI of Pakistan," the city Police added.
