Senior Shiv Sena leader and former Lok Sabha speaker Manohar Joshi Monday said the contention between Sena's executive president Udhav Thackeray and estranged party leader Raj Thackeray, "is purely an issue between the brothers" and could be resolved only by both of them, through discussion.

Joshi, who was in Aurangabad to participate in the party's divisional meet, however, ruled out that Udhav needs to come two steps backward to initiate dialogue with Raj to find a solution.

Raj had been in focus since he had resigned from all party posts after his outburst over his "marginalisation" in the party by the coterie around Udhav.

Meanwhile, the 38-year-old rebel leader is yet to respond to Udhav's statement on last Wednesday in Nagpur that the doors of 'Matoshree' (Thackeray family's residence) were "always open for him (Raj)".
