A TADA court, hearing the 1993 bomb blasts case, on Wednesday asked the Mumbai Crime Branch to move the related court at an appropriate time for seeking custody of extradited gangster Abu Salem [Images] in the probe pertaining to murder of Ajit Dewani, Secretary of actress Manisha Koirala [Images], in 2001.

The direction was given by designated judge P D Kode on an application filed by Crime Branch.

The application was moved by Crime Branch as Salem is now placed in the custody of TADA court.

The Ajit Dewani murder case is one of the two cases for which Mumbai Police has been allowed to prosecute Salem as per the conditions set by the Portugal government to extradite the gangster.

The other case with the Mumbai police is the Pradeep Jain murder case of 1995, for which Salem is presently in custody of the Anti Terrorist Squad.

The Crime Branch had sought transfer remand from the TADA court but it could not be granted as Salem's custody has already been transferred to the ATS till December 17, for the Pradeep Jain murder probe.
