Russia gets $10,000 annual grant to promote Indology

India will provide an annual grant of $ 10,000 to Russia [Images] for the promotion of Indology for the next three years.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] at a meeting in Moscow [Images] Monday evening with select Russian academics involved in Indian studies.

"The grant will be made available to the Russian scholars for the next three years," Indian ambassador Kanwal Sibal said.
