Natwar may be dropped: Congress leader

A senior Congress leader has said that if Mr Natwar Singh, former external affairs minister, does not tender his resignation from the Union council of ministers, then he may be dropped from the Cabinet.

"The Congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi [Images], by dropping him from the Congress Steering Committee, has sent a strong signal to Natwar Singh that he is no longer required and that he should resign," the Congress leader said during a conversation with rediff.com.

Natwar Singh is a minister without portfolio in Dr Manmohan Singh's [Images] government.
