The Central Bureau of Investigation special court on Thursday deferred the orders on the bail plea of Monica Bedi, the starlet girlfriend of underworld don Abu Salem, and postponed the matter to December 9.
"The matter with regard to passing of orders on the bail application of Monica Bedi is adjourned to December 9 by the incharge judge of the CBI special court," lawyer S Pradeep Kumar, who is assisting Monica Bedi's counsel from Delhi Sudhir Batra told rediff.com.
The judge also directed the jail authorities to produce Monica Bedi in the court on December 9 to enable the prosecution to obtain her specimen signatures to compare with the original signatures of the documents allegedly seized by the CBI in the forged passport case.
Monica Bedi, whose judicial remand has been extended upto December 9, is presently lodged in the women's jail at Chanchalguda in the city. She has been charged by the CBI with obtaining a passport from Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad, under a fictitious name and by furnishing false address.
