The victims were sleeping in front of their houses in Mohammedpur Madhayee village when the incident occurred. Two of the three injured have been rushed to the Agra Medical College hospital for treatment, they said.

Protesting against the hit-and-run incident, angry residents of the area staged a sit-in on the Shikohabad-Mainpuri road on Saturday morning.

Senior civil and police officials reached the site and got the road cleared, the officials added.
