Sri Lanka Foreign Minister to visit New Delhi

Sri Lanka's [Images] new Foreign Minister Anura Bandaranaike will undertake his first mission abroad with a visit to India on Thursday to hold talks with its leadership.

Bandaranaike is visiting on the invitation of the Indian government and will call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] and other leaders, officials said on Tuesday.

Bandaranaike, 56, was named the foreign minister after assassination of Lakshman Kadirgamar by suspected Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam rebels.
