Old building collapses partially in Mumbai

Less than 36 hours after an old building collapsed on Temkar street in south Mumbai, claiming 12 lives, another dilapidated building collapsed partially in Tardeo in the same area on Wednesday.

However, noone was injured as the building was vacant for past several days and was scheduled to undergo major repairs, police said.

The 'Mistry building' was in a bad shape and its major portion collapsed all of a sudden, police said.

The premises has been cordoned off and civic authorities will be asked to demolish the remaining structure that posed a danger to residents of nearby buildings, it added.
