Ahead of Bharatiya Janata Party chief Lal Kishenchand Advani's visit to Gujarat, four ministers of the Narendra Modi-led government met 'rebel' leader and former chief minister Keshubhai Patel at his house in Gandhinagar to 'inquire' about his wife's health.

Patel returned from Delhi on Thursday after meeting the BJP high command and apprising them of the problems of the state lesgislators and members of Parliament in connection with 'the style of functioning of Chief Minister Narendra Modi [Images] and seeking his ouster'.

The anti-Modi delegation, however, did not meet Advani, who is a Modi supporter. Advani is scheduled to visit Ahmedabad on Saturday.

Cabinet Ministers I K Jadeja, Raman Vora, Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and Ministers of State Bharat Barot and Anandiben Patel met Keshubhai at his residence.

"We went to inquire about the health of Keshubhai's wife Leelaben," Jadeja told PTI when asked about purpose of their visit.

The sudden visit of Union Textiles Minister Shankersinh Vaghela to Keshubhai's house also fuelled much speculation and political debate as Vaghela is Patel's former political adversary.

Vaghela too said he had visited the BJP leader only to inquire about his wife's health.

On his return from Delhi, Keshubhai said the delegation led by him had placed matter before the party high command appropriately and was hopeful for a solution.
