In yet another incident of gang-rape in the national capital, a woman was criminally assaulted by 4 friends of her husband in north-west Delhi.

Two of the accused were arrested on Saturday while the others were absconding, police sources  said.

The incident took place on Thursday when the 20-year-old woman, a resident of a slum cluster in Sultanpuri, went searching for her husband as he had not come home for sometime. She went to the house of one Sanjiv alias Sanju, a friend of her husband, to ask whether he had come there.

However, Sanjiv pulled her into his house where three of his friends Monu, Honey and Ramu were already present. The four then allegedly assaulted her for several hours before letting her go.

The woman registered a complaint with the police on Saturday morning after which Sanjiv and Honey were arrested.

Efforts are on to trace Monu and Ramu, the sources said. The woman's husband, a bus conductor, had gone away from his house as he was mentally disturbed.

The gang-rape took place on the same day, a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by eight men in Najafgarh in south-west Delhi.

In May, a Delhi University student had been abducted and gang-raped in a moving car and only last  month, a pregnant woman had been similarly assaulted in Mayapuri in south-west Delhi.
