'The day we start taking risks, we will be the best in the world'

Kar Chale Hum Fida Janotan Sathiyon, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyon is my favourite patriotic song.

I love singing so when I was in school, I always sang a patriotic song on Independence Day. There was flag hoisting, we got sweets and I won some trophies for my singing.

India has immense talent, but I feel we are scared of exploring and don't take risks. The day we start risking it, we will be seen as the best in the world. Indians have the brains, versatility and will power. We can withstand pain. These days Indians are showing that we can also do it.

Every Independence Day I wake up with a great feeling. There's no work and it's nice to see little Indian flags fluttering from autorickshaws. There is general feeling of happiness around and the flags, patriotic songs make you feel a special closeness to India. It can be very touching. It makes you feel that -- 'Yes, this is my country and I am proud of it'.
