A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped in a private bus by eight men in southwest Delhi in the wee hours on Thursday.

While six of the accused were arrested soon after the incident, the hunt was on for two more believed to be involved.

The 16-year-old girl was lured by the driver of the private bus Narender, 24, with whom she was on friendly terms, to the vehicle at around midnight where he and his friends assaulted her, police said.

The Police Control Room received a call at around 0130 IST that a girl was being raped in the Blueline bus parked near the Nangloi bus stop.

Police reached the spot and arrested the accused. The policemen gave the girl, whose clothes had been torn, some clothes.

A medical examination later confirmed that she had been criminally assaulted.

The girl, a resident of a slum cluster in Nangloi, was missing since August 5.

She told police that she was coming back home when he had lured her to the bus, in which his friends were waiting, by promising her a job.

The other accused Vikas, 20, Rajbir, 24, Narender, 19, Shekhar, 24 and Sandip Ahuja, 24, were remanded to two days' police custody.

The prosecution told the court that investigations revealed that two more persons had left after committing the crime and police needed custody of the accused to trace them.
