Victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots on Tuesday rejected the Action Taken Report on the Nanavati Commission findings and burnt its copies during a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

"The Action Taken Report is an eyewash. For the last 21 years, Sikhs believed they will get justice, but it did not happen," said All India Sikh Conference President G S Babbar, who led the demonstration.

Earlier, the Riot Cell formed by the Delhi Police had held 72 policemen guilty of participating in the riots, but no action had been taken even against them, Babbar said.

He said the ATR had made it clear that the government was not interested in punishing the guilty.

He urged the government to at least look into the rehabilitation issues of riot victims urgently as they were facing lot of hardships.
