The international post office in the Russian capital was evacuated on Tuesday after a high level of radiation was detected from a package, the Emergency Situations Ministry said.
The package was emitting radiation about 1.5 times higher than normal background level, said ministry spokeswoman Natalia Goncharova. She, however, declined to give a specific figure.
A ministry team had been sent to the post office, in southern Moscow [Images], to investigate.
