London blasts have no links with Kerala: CM

Kerala [Images] Chief Minister Oomen Chandy told the state assembly on Wednesday that it would be puerile to jump to the conclusion that the state had turned into a terrorist haven, simply because it had come to light that the plastic jar used for packing explosives for last month's failed terrorist attack in London [Images] was made by a manufacturer in the state.

'The plastic company located here had been exporting its products to nine countries, including the United Kingdom. That did not mean the company had any terrorist link,' Chandy said in reply to a sumbission by M V Jayarajan of the Communist Party of India-Marxist.

The London police had carried out enquiries with the company's management after knowing that the plastic container used for carrying the explosives was made by the Kerala-based unit, he said, adding that the London police is learnt to have sought details of the manufacturers' distribution network.
