Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad activists attacked the vehicle of former minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal national spokesperson Sanjay Paswan when it entered the Patna University campus on Monday.

Paswan, whose vehicle was damaged, was rescued by the police. "He was taken to the Geography department under police protection for safety," a senior official of the university said.

Paswan said his vehicle was surrounded by ABVP activists who broke the windows of the vehicle with banners and flags. To protest the attack on Paswan, who also teaches in the university, professors observed a token strike on Tuesday.

The RJD has also threatened to agitate over the attack on Paswan by the ABVP. Only last week, a senior RJD leader and Patna Water Board chairman Ashok Yadav was killed in a bomb attack in his office.
