Siwan District Magistrate C K Anil on Wednesday ordered the arrest of senior Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Shivanand Tiwari if he entered the district defying the ban against him, official sources said.

A ban was imposed on Tiwari after he made a provocative speech against the DM at a function in Siwan district.

The arrest warrant was issued after Tiwari announced that he would enter Siwan on April 9. In a letter to Anil on Tuesday, Tiwari charged him with 'infringing a citizen's democratic and constitutional right by exceeding his authority'.

Anil has written to Home Commissioner Girish Shankar seeking additional force to maintain peace if Tiwari enters Siwan, the sources said.

A copy of the arrest warrant has been sent to the district magistrates of Patna, Vaishali and Saran falling in the route to Siwan, they added.

Anil had earlier externed RJD MP from Siwan Mohammed Shahabuddin from the district for six months during February assembly polls.
