Ex-mukhiya axed to death by sons

September 29, 2004 14:39 IST

An ex-mukhiya of Khappar Munda village under Panki police station in Palamu district of Jharkhand has been axed to death, allegedly by his three sons, on Tuesday evening.

Police said Gobardhan Yadav was axed to death after he refused to partition his property while he was alive.

A FIR lodged by Yadav's eldest son, Naval Yadav, names his three younger brothers -- Nagendra Yadav, Radhe Yadav and Chotan Yadav – as the killers.

The FIR states that the three accused had been pressuring their father for partition of the property but Yadav refused to do so till he was alive.

All the three accused are at large, sources added.
