No mention of Vidarbha in BJP-Sena manifesto

September 28, 2004 18:55 IST

Free power and waiver of farmers' loans and reservation in jobs and education for women are among the various promises made in the Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena manifesto released on Tuesday in Mumbai.

The manifesto, released by BJP leader Pramod Mahajan and Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray, however, does not make any reference to the demand for statehood for Vidarbha.

A promise to install 'Savarkar Jyot' at a few places and a memorial of Chhatrapati Shivaji at Raigad Fort are some of the populist promises in the manifesto.

Mumbai Vision 2010, a plan for developing Mumbai, also features in the manifesto.
