Can you help us sleep again without medication?
This is a question that AOL teachers are often asked. "We are positioning our programmes as a tool to help people combat war stress, and not as any kind of religion at all," says Naeem Zamindar, who took Art of Living formally into Pakistan in January this year.
Zamindar, 36, who looks at least 10 years younger, attributes his youthful appearance and calm demeanour to the peace he has found. He recently gave up his job in San Fransisco with Intel Capital, the venture capital arm of Intel, to work full-time with 'Guruji'.
"I grew up in Pakistan in the 1980s, and saw the disintegration of society there," he says. "Pakistan had become such a closed society during the Zia years.
"I felt that this programme would give Pakistan a sustainable peace. I wanted so much for the peace between India and Pakistan to grow steadily too.
"I decided that the best way to resolve the mistrust relating to our differing cultures, and to the Hindu-Muslim divide, was to take Sri Sri and his systems into Pakistan."
