Uttaranchal CM will go if Sonia says so

October 28, 2004 19:54 IST

Ending months of speculation, Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari on Thursday said he will be ready to bow out if the Congress high command so desires.

"I met Congress president Sonia Gandhi today and told her that if she and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh think that there is a need for a change of leadership in the state, I will have no objection to it," Tiwari told reporters after a lengthy
meeting with Sonia.
