Maharashtra Cong to choose leader on Friday

A meeting of the Congress Legislature Party has been convened in Mumbai on Friday to elect its new leader.

The CLP will meet at 11 am at Vidhan Bhavan, party spokesman Anant Gadgil said.

Senior party leaders Gulam Nabi Azad, Digvijay Singh and Margaret Alva will attend the meeting, he said.

The Nationalist Congress Party has also convened a meeting of its legislature unit at 1000 IST at the party headquarters in south Mumbai.

Senior NCP leaders Tariq Anwar and D P Tripathi will attend the meeting, NCP sources said.
