Pawar meets party leaders

The Nationalist Congress Party on Wednesday held a meeting in New Delhi to deliberate on the issue of government formation in Maharashtra, as the deadlock over chief ministership entered the eleventh day.

Central leaders and those from Maharashtra attended the meeting at party chief Sharad Pawar's residence.

Among the Maharshtra leaders were Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinh Mohite-Patil, Home Minister R R Patil, former deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Ajit Pawar and Jayant Patil.

The NCP legislature party, which met on Monday, had authorised Pawar to a take a decision on the chief ministership issue.
