Sources said party MLAs and top leaders are being asked to convey their views on the NCP's new demand to the high command.

Earlier, after an hour-long meeting with Sonia Gandhi, Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters that "it [the issue of chief ministership) will be resolved today."

Asked whether any meeting between Gandhi and NCP chief Sharad Pawar was scheduled, party general secretary Ahmed Patel said: "Not so far."

The Congress on Sunday had offered three additional ministerial berths and two more portfolios to the NCP.
